A young freelance photographer and filmmaker Jakob Lander Vingtoft from Denmark has so much experience in the travel industry, including tourism boards, hotels, and outdoor brands, also is working on both small and bigger film projects within commercial and branding. When Jakob grabs the camera, he captures the most beautiful photos. It’s so interesting to get to know more about Jakob.
As a young artist Jakob is very passionate about his work. And we can see how nature inspires Jakob. “I literally just like getting out in the wild, enjoying the present with a camera in my hand together with my girlfriend or a couple of friends. However, I still enjoy doing adventure stuff like river-rafting, canoeing, canyoning, diving and stuff like that. As long as it feels safe”, we can definitely call Jakob a real nature lover, when the camera is the best friend.
“I started making funny video sketches with some of my friends back in the days. This led to an interest in filmmaking. I started making videos from family weekends, holidays, and trips with my friends. I had a friend who had the same common interest in filmmaking, and we started doing small trips with the only purpose of capturing cool stuff. I started shouting photos at this time as well”, it was a 3 weeks boat trip to The Faroe Islands and Iceland in the beginning of 2018. On this trip, Jakob realised how much he actually loved capturing nature with a camera.
“I just love being out in nature. Especially being amongst mountains always blows my mind! Maybe it’s because I’m from one of the flattest countries on earth”, Jakob loves hiking or getting out when the weather is extreme. One of his favourite trips is a trip to Finland in 2022. “We had such extreme temperatures (at least from a Dane’s point of view). Every day was around –25 °C. And I just loved wearing those 10 layers of clothing, hiking the frozen forest while watching northern light at night!”, this is what fascinates Jakob about traveling and being a nature lover.
