GREECE. Greece is made up of thousands of islands. And has 18 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
ITALY. The famous Venice’s gondolas have been used since the 11th century. There were 10,000 gondolas in Venice. Did you know that prospective gondoliers must complete 400 hours of training before passing a test to prove their knowledge of how to operate a gondola, Venetian landmarks and history, and language skills.
SPAIN. Madrid is home to the world’s oldest restaurant. It’s Sobrino de Botín – a cosy Spanish eatery that opened in 1725 and still are open. Try Sobrino de Botín’s speciality cochinillo asado (roast suckling pig).
LITHUANIA. Lithuanian is one of the oldest languages that still exist today. Lithuania has 758 rivers, more than 2 800 lakes and 99 km of the Baltic Sea coastline.
ISRAEL. Shakshuka is a staple dish at any Israeli breakfast. The dish’s name, shakshuka, essentially means ‘all mixed up’. Shakshuka reached Israel via Jewish immigrants from Libya and Tunisia in the 60s. But the dish only started to appear on menus in the 90s.
